With the conviction
of a real visionary, a redoubtable moral and a strength of character, he
had to be particularly tenacious in a confrontation with major forest industrialists
to protect the tourist circuit and the quality of its environment. At the
expense of unfailing perseverance, he succeeded in entering into negociations
with these industrialists, however, he had to compromise enormously: destruction
of camps, reconstruction elsewhere, detour of the trail on several kilometres,
revised roadsigns, to be on neighbourly terms with them. He thus earned
everyone's respect and esteem in the tourist and outdoor field. Return
