Inaugural ceremony
Eudore Fortin and Réal Martel present the project during the inaugural ceremony.

In May 1998, the official integration of the Traversée de Charlevoix to the National Trail in Quebec took place, in the presence of Eudore Fortin (President of La Traversée de Charlevoix), Réal Martel (President of the National Trail in Québec), Normand Renaud (President of the Québec Trail Committee), Rosaire Bertrand (Deputy of Charlevoix) and Jacynthe B. Simard (Prefect of the MRC Charlevoix).

The participants to the event were able to chose among different guided hike during the week-end. Each of the excursions led the visitor to the summits of the area.  It is interesting to note that all the trails were developed by M. Fortin over the last twenty years.

One of the excursions, from Mont du Dôme to Mont du Lac des Cygnes.

The project Sentier national au Québec (National Trail in Québec) aims at linking up Ontario to New-Brunswick by a continous hiking trail of over 1000 km. The path will be mainly in wild territories and is dedicated to hikers.
