NEW RUSTIC CABIN BUILT IN SUMMER 2025!

This brand-new rustic cabin, built in the summer of 2025, is located near the Noyée Trail and the Mont des Morios Trail, among others. It is also situated on the complete crossing itinerary. This cabin offers a peaceful retreat where you can recharge, embrace outdoor adventures, and soak in the beauty of the natural landscape.

Access

Summer

In summer, the rustic cabin is located 6 km from the Noyée Trail parking lot. You must take the Charlevoix Traverse trail (via the alternative trail marked in white and blue) to get there.

Winter

From the first snows (sometimes in October), acessing the rustic cabin includes an 11 km trek, on snowshoes or skis, from the the parking lot opposite Domaine Picbois, as the road is closed to vehicles during the winter period (sometimes until the end of May/beginning of June).

Please note: Check-in at our reception is not required to access this rustic cabin. You will receive all the information and documents to sign by email before your stay.

Activities

The rustic cabin is located near the Noyée Trail, the Mont des Morios Trail*, Chutes* Trail, The Bihoreau Trail, among others. It is also situated on the Charlevoix Traverse hiking route.

*Please note that the Mont des Morios, Falls, and Chutes Trails, as well as the roads and parking in this area, are maintained by the Pied-des-Monts Association. If you wish to use these trails, we strongly encourage you to become a member of the association to support their mission.

  • Slow-burning wood stove
  • Firewood
  • 2-burner propane stove
  • Propane lamps on the 1st floor
  • USB ports (solar power)
  • 6 foam mattresses with vinyl covers
  • Table and benches
  • Composting toilet
  • Shovel and axe
  • Pots, pans
  • Basic kitchen utensils (ladle, spatula, knife, colander, cutting board, etc.)
  • Tableware: plates, bowls, cups, utensils
  • Dishwashing bin
  • Cleaning products (dish soap, surface disinfectant, hand sanitizer)

Each group must bring:

  • Dish towels
  • Scrubbing sponge
  • Toilet paper
  • Matches and fire starters or newspaper
  • Sleeping bag

Important information

It is strictly prohibited to use snowmobiles or any other off-road vehicles in this area.

There is no running water in our cabins or shelters, but they are all located near bodies of water such as lakes, rivers, and streams. La Traversée recommends treating water, either by filtering it, using specific disinfectant products, or boiling it for ten minutes.

Outdoor fires are prohibited.

You must take all your waste with you.
