With its breathtaking view of the Malbaie River, the Prophets’ shelter is the ideal place to rejuvenate, engage in outdoor activities, and appreciate the surrounding nature.
Rates
Spring (Easter to St-Jean Baptiste)
- Sunday to Thursday: $63 per night
- Friday and Saturday: $70 per night (minimum: 2 nights)
Summer (St-Jean Baptiste to Labor day)
- Sunday to Thursday: $67 per night
- Friday and Saturday: $74 per night (minimum: 2 nights)
Fall – Winter (Labor day to Easter)
- Sunday to Thursday: $79 per night
- Friday and Saturday: $87 per night (minimum: 2 nights)
Holidays
- Holidays (St. Jean Baptiste, Canada Day, etc.), the holiday period (December 20 to January 6), and the spring break (February 27 to March 10): the weekend rate applies at all times, and a minimum of 2 consecutive nights is required.
Base rate per night – Exclusive cabins for 1 or 2 people.
Taxes not included unless indicated otherwise.
Additional person fees:
Adult : 12 $ / night
6 à 16 years-old : 6 $ / night
0 à 5 years-old : free
Prices include the use of propane, lighting, and firewood.
Access
The shelter is located at the boundary of the Hautes-Gorges-de-la-Rivière-Malbaie National Park. You must pass through the park to reach it. You will need a daily access pass for each day you travel within the park.
Summer
In the summer, the shelter is directly accessible by car.
A permit from the Hautes-Gorges-de-la-Rivière-Malbaie National Park is required for car access. We will provide this permit by email the day before your departure.
Winter
In the winter, the shelter is approximately 5 km away and can be reached by snowshoe or on skis since the road is closed to vehicles during the winter season.

Equipment provided
- Slow-burning wood stove
- Firewood
- 2-burner propane stove
- Propane lamps on the 1st floor
- 6 foam mattresses with vinyl covers
- Table and benches
- Composting toilet
- Shovel and axe
- Pots, pans
- Basic kitchen utensils (ladle, spatula, knife, colander, cutting board, etc.)
- Tableware: plates, bowls, cups, utensils
- Dishwashing bin
- Cleaning products (dish soap, surface disinfectant, hand sanitizer)
Each group must bring:
- Dish towels
- Scrubbing sponge
- Toilet paper
- Matches and fire starters or newspaper
- Sleeping bag
Important information
It is strictly prohibited to use snowmobiles or any other off-road vehicles in this area.
There is no running water in our cabins or shelters, but they are all located near bodies of water such as lakes, rivers, and streams. La Traversée recommends treating water, either by filtering it, using specific disinfectant products, or boiling it for ten minutes.
Outdoor fires are prohibited.
